Funditec took part today in Wake Up Spain 2026, the innovation and transformation forum organized by El Español, where Gonzalo Álvarez Marañón, Director of Funditec Research, presented the Foundation’s role within the MaDiTraCe project, funded by Horizon Europe.
MaDiTraCe aims to improve the reliability of tracking Critical Raw Materials (CRMs) and to increase transparency across supply chains. The project develops and validates digital approaches based on geolocation, integrated into a certification scheme, and involves stakeholders ranging from mining operations to manufacturing industries. This approach ensures regulatory alignment and facilitates the future implementation of the project’s results.
Within this framework, Funditec leads a work line focused on cybersecurity applied to Smart Contracts, aimed at strengthening the security of the digital layer supporting traceability processes. The team analyzes vulnerabilities and proposes solutions using specialized tools such as Echidna and Slither, along with methodologies like P.A.S.T.A (Process for Attack Simulation and Threat Analysis). This approach enables the detection of risks, the recommendation of best practices, and the definition of prevention, mitigation, and incident‑response strategies.
Funditec’s participation in Wake Up Spain 2026 reinforces its commitment to applied research and the development of technological solutions that promote a more secure, transparent, and regulation‑aligned digital ecosystem.
