The Fundación para el Desarrollo y la Innovación Tecnológica (Funditec) is a non-profit technology center located in Madrid. Funditec plays a key role in the value chain of technological development by offering sustainable and secure R&D projects to its customers and industrial partners in accordance with current economic and social needs. Funditec develops innovative projects in our own laboratory facilities in three strategic areas: Advanced Materials, Agri-Food and Digital Transformation.
We are currently looking for a Software Engineer for the Digital Transformation area.
The main functions to be carried out will be:
- Support to national and European R&D&I projects of the Digital Transformation department in the area of Cybersecurity: Data Spaces, Supply Chain in critical sectors, traceability of materials and self-sovereign identity. Development, implementation and testing of proof-of-concept (PoC) or non-marketable prototype solutions close to the market is required in the framework of cybersecurity projects in various verticals: e-health, industry 4.0, energy, public administration, for the management or prevention of security incidents and monitoring the integrity and reliability of systems.
Training and job requirements:
- Advanced degree, preferably in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar.
- Training related to Software Engineering: design, implementation and testing of distributed storage systems, data management from transformation to exploitation.
- Experience in deploying systems in the cloud or automation with Terraform/Docker type tools.
- Publications in distributed systems or software conferences and journals. Bonus have experience in sovereign identity management using SSI philosophy and European Data Spaces with Java.
Additional training to be considered:
- Master’s degree in Distributed Systems, Software Engineering or Telecommunications.
- Software development certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) Java SE 8, AWS Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Terraform (HashiCorp Infrastructure Automation Certification), Linux Foundation Training and Certifications of any type.
Experience:
- 1 year in execution of R&D projects, some of which related to Big Data and DevOps.
- Previous experience in national and/or European projects at undergraduate or graduate level will be an asset.
Languages:
- English/Spanish, spoken and written, medium/high level.
Computer science:
- Proficiency in one or more languages used in secure and scalable distributed systems: Java, C, C++, Go.
- Modeling and development of software systems with UML, testing with unit libraries, integration libraries or similar oriented to functional programming.
- Streaming messaging tools such as Apache Kafka or Flink, Apache Camel for messaging system integration patterns, Apache HBase or similar for distributed and replicated storage.
- Development of identity management software and access and authentication controls in distributed blockchain systems or Oauth-like credential management with KeyCloak or similar tools.
- General interest in Distributed Systems security and data storage and processing.
