Funditec will participate in Wake Up Spain 2026 with the presentation of MADITRACE, a key cybersecurity project for Smart Contracts

Funditec will be present tomorrow, April 16, at Wake Up Spain 2026, the innovation and transformation forum organized by El Español. In this edition, Gonzalo Álvarez Marañón, Director of Funditec Research, will take part to present MADITRACE, a Horizon Europe–funded initiative focused on strengthening the security of Smart Contracts in digital environments.

During his intervention, Gonzalo will explain how MADITRACE addresses one of the most critical challenges in the blockchain ecosystem: the detection and mitigation of vulnerabilities in smart  contracts, a fundamental layer for ensuring trust and integrity in digital transactions

MADITRACE: advanced analysis and recommendations for a safer ecosystem

The project focuses on cybersecurity applied to Smart Contracts, combining specialized tools such as Echidna and Slither with threat‑analysis methodologies like P.A.S.T.A (Process for Attack Simulation and Threat Analysis).

Through this approach, the Funditec team:

  • Analyzes the behavior of smart contracts
  • Identifies potential vulnerabilities
  • Proposes best practices and strategies for detection, prevention, mitigation, and resolution in case of incidents

MADITRACE does not develop new tools; instead, it rigorously applies existing technologies and methodologies to provide in‑depth analysis and actionable recommendations that strengthen the security of blockchain‑based systems.

Commitment to applied research and cybersecurity

Funditec’s participation in Wake Up Spain 2026 highlights our commitment to applied research and to developing technological solutions that deliver real value to industry. MADITRACE exemplifies how the combination of technical expertise, advanced analysis, and established methodologies can contribute to a more secure and reliable digital ecosystem.
