The technical team from Igarle, Proconsi and Funditec talk about the main advantages of the project and the drawbacks they have faced during its development.

Given that Blockfactu is a clearly technological project, what are, from your point of view, the main challenges you have had to face in order to achieve the project’s objectives?
We think that Blockfactu has been useful and has managed to achieve the objectives of developing a system that provides integrity, traceability and preservation of events and also to ensure their non-repudiation, through a blockchain system combined with smart contracts that allow us to verify the statuses of each invoice at each moment and ensure that the ERP receives this invoice or this event, and for this reason I think we have covered these objectives.
Technically it is curious to highlight that what at the beginning seemed that it was going to be the way in which the ERPs were going to be motivated to deliver the events of invoice reception, which is mandatory for non-repudiation, instead of doing it by punishment (which was what it seemed to us at the beginning) we have acted with a very different way generating a record of the events, which that when this record is accumulated, yes it could have consequences.
The main difficulty we have encountered is the legal changes that have taken place since we drafted the report for the project application until now. When the Crea y Crece Law came out in September, it changed the image quite a lot, because with the proposal of mandatory delivery in FacturaE, which in our case was a proposal, with this Law it became mandatory and it already established how it was going to be through third parties. This fact has been conditioning the development of the project, because we had to try to adapt to it. In the end, what seemed to be the regulation was finally going to be a different way, and this has generated a situation of many complications and we have had to focus on the original objectives of the proposal because it was impossible to anticipate what was going to happen.
From a practical point of view, what does BlockFactu solve for an ERP manufacturer or a client or user of that ERP integrated with BlockFactu?
The main advantage of BlockFactu is that it concentrates a set of services that it delivers to an ERP in a way that they already know, it is something traditional, an entry via web services and that they are accustomed to use; it is not a new technology that complicates the ERP’s management, it is totally transparent to the outside.
All the services that BlockFactu guarantees, such as: interoperability, non-repudiation, traceability, conservation of all documents, etc., are totally transparent for the ERP. He knows that he is going to deliver a document to the BlockFactu platform and that it will reach the recipient. Also the ERP that participates, or the clients of the ERPs that participate in this environment will see that their suppliers or their respective clients, depending on the role they play, will have to comply with the rules imposed by BlockFactu, because if not, the penalty system will cause them to lower their confidence and they may even be expelled.
In short, BlockFactu is simplicity. All the services it offers are going to be very easy to consume. There are services that it offers, such as legal compliance or document retention over a long period of time. For example, if an ERP, the user has a backup in the platform itself of that documentation that he is obliged to keep, and so on with future services that the platform wants to offer.
