MaDiTraCe: Material and digital traceability for the certification of critical raw materials
MaDiTraCe aims to enhance the reliability of tracking critical raw materials (CRMs) and increase transparency in complex supply chains. The project develops and tests digital and geo-based approaches for CRM traceability, integrating them with a certification scheme across mineral supply chains. MaDiTraCe engages stakeholders from mining to manufacturing industries, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance and facilitating implementation of project outcomes.

The main objective of MaDiTraCe is to expand and integrate technological solutions to enhance the reliability of tracking critical raw materials (CRMs) and increase transparency in complex supply chains. The project seeks to develop and test independent digital and geo-based approaches for CRM traceability and integrate them with a generic certification scheme for CRMs across mineral supply chains. Efforts will focus on advancing experimental or untested methods in both digital and material sciences domains. This methodology will empower downstream industries to validate the sustainability of their claims, ensuring compliance with existing regulations and preparing for forthcoming regulations.
At the core of MaDiTraCe is a robust stakeholder engagement process involving upstream and downstream industrial partners, as well as extensive networks in the project. Ongoing interaction with industrial and policy-oriented stakeholder community throughout the development of traceability technology and certification schemes will ensure alignment with industrial needs and expectations regarding regulatory compliance. This collaborative approach will also facilitate the implementation and exploitation of project outcomes.
